I am extremely proud of myself for all of this work that I have been doing and thankful for the support I have gotten.  Leaving my blog unattended made me feel similar to leaving your animal out in the rain I hope everyone will forgive me but I needed the time to focus. Image

I have thought of some great posts that I want to put together for my page here so I will be working on that.  As you can see I am doing my next 5K in Medford, OR with family.

Starting on Sunday I was able to get a mile back into my daily walking and that makes me feel good.  I feel horrible because due to illness I was not able to keep up with my training and that has made everything worse.

But I am back and I going to be working on making sure I share stories about my progress and events going on around this place called earth that I think are fun.

Wow I finally feel like I am on the mend and today’s goal will be to get my water levels up and to get my full set of walking training done.  I am going to be posting some videos soon on Youtube so please stay tuned for that because it will likely happen in the next 24 hours.  

I might be going to work with miss matched socks today cuz I am just not finding where all of my matches have gone.  I don’t think it is the dryer because it’s more likely that my messyness has just started taking hostages again.  Because I am starting to feel better I am going to be cleaning up some more.  

Well I am off to work and I wish you all good luck.

Hooray for me!

So I am extremely happy to have accomplished my goal and walking the 5K.  My knees are sore but the rest of me is just a but weary for having the long walk today.    I took breaks along the way and I paced myself well and I want to go again… in a few weeks.  I still have my 5K for March coming up so I won’t be letting up on my training.  Every inch of me feels stronger, my arms, my legs, my back, and yes my knees.  I wish I could tell you that it was easy but it is not and I am always wanting to just not walk my mile each day.  But I know I have to keep walking so that I can get to my next 5K with an even better time.  Oh and my time was 1 hour 26 mins for 3.1 miles of beautiful walking with my friends and wonderful scenery around me.  It was cold but that was okay because well I was sweating a great deal so that kept me from getting over heated.  I am actually worried about that with my walks in the summer but I know I will manage.  

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me and encouraging me through my first 5K event.  I will continue to need your help and support because being surrounded by such positive energy is how I have gotten this far and I don’t want to be without any of you.  

I am going to take a nap folks but I will be up later.

The Course will be right along the waterfront park.

Part of the event tomorrow that I will be doing is this: The Bone Marrow Registry (simple cheek swab) Free of Charge Day of Event! You could be the one to save the life someone’s child, brother, sister, parent or friend….it certainly doesn’t get any bigger than that.

My body is a flutter with excitement and I am working on pampering myself today and filling up on fluids.  I am not sure if anyone has this issue but I simply don’t drink enough so I need to focus on that today so that my joints will have the support they need.  

I have to pick up my runners packet from store today for the Valentine Run and then I think I need todo something else but I can’t recall.  This week has been stressful and I am feeling it so I am really taking it easy right now.  I am glad that I started 2 months ago building up my stamina by walking a mile a day.  I am also humbled by all the support I have gotten from friends and family.  

I will be working taking photos and maybe a video so that I can share but please be warned my face is broken out so I am not looking so amazing right now.

Tuesday troubles

Good morning everyone,

I am freaking out and worrying about doing the 5K on Sunday and while I know that is normal my Midwestern heritage of guilt for not doing more or better is consuming my thoughts.  I am not drinking enough water and yesterday I only walked 1.5 miles instead of the 2 that was planned.  My face is all broken out and I can feel myself stressed and it is lame.

On the positive side of things my clothes are fitting me better I started working out with my 5 lb. weights and they feel like the 3 lbs. I was working with before. I am getting stronger and healthier so that is all good.  Now I just need to get my brain to catch up and relax.
