Since I was a kid apples have been my favorite fruit and to this day they are my go to fruit of choice. A few years ago someone had told me that apples cause diarrhea and I honestly didn’t believe it. My apple my perfect fruit of choice could not ever cause harm to anyone or be uncomfortable. When I was a child I would climb up apple trees or play Hide-N-Seek in orchards so they were perfect.
I went home sick today from work because I couldn’t stay out of the bathroom and I just feeling awful. As I tried and tried to get through my work but I finally went to my boss and told her I need to go home before I spent the rest of the day in the restroom. I came home and just tried to relax and drank much water. Finally I decided to look up my issue online and it was apples…. APPLES!?!?
Yes apples and my heart is just dying a bit because of this betrayal. I am going to try and find solutions to this and find ways to limit my apple intake to not cause this again.
Thank goodness I can still have some apples because they are wonderful but I now know they are a sneaky mistress. But there are many other fruit in the world I just have to make sure I do my research before I juice.
So I got home and I worked online for a bit and I realized I it was getting late and I hadn’t gotten my juice in today because of the disaster this morning… there is still green on one of my walls and I will have to get that off tomorrow because right now I just don’t have the energy. I decided to just to a simple Orange and Apple juice and I am sipping that smiling as if sunshine is in my belly. I am glad I finally started Juicing and I wish I could have started earlier but it’s never too late. It’s nice that I was gifted a Juicer years ago but prior to juicing I was blending up smoothies with berries, soy milk, and sometimes honey if it was lacking in sweet.
But I am feeling really good now so I think I might just go over and clean off the green from the wall. Oh I have learned a trick with cleaning the mesh filter in my juicer and that is to soak it with a bit of comet when I wash off everything else and then I scrub it out with a tooth brush to get the fibers out of the mesh. Anyway tomorrow I will not likely be posting anything because I have a long day but I will be posting later in the week.
OMG so I made my juice and it tasted good but I hadn’t started drinking it yet because I always like to clean my juicer because it is easier to clean that way. While I was cleaning up I knocked the juice I just pressed all over the floor.. I almost cried. So I finished cleaning up and I have a towel sopping up my juice on the floor.
I will say I tried the Kale for the first time and it was good in the juice oh and I trimmed my oranges before I put them through the juicer and that helped reduce the pulp.
Also apparently it is snowing outside. This is just a crazy morning…. I think I am going to have oatmeal instead of juice.
In the past few days I have been juicing and I have found my energy increase in fact usually on my day off I have a nap half way through the day because of my lack of energy. It was really nice being able to get more done on my days off. Today I am doing 1 Orange, 2 apples, and 3 leaves of Kale. I am really liking the citrus in the juice and it makes the whole juice blended together smoother.

Hey everyone I am testing out different combos of veggies and fruits to find something good to drink. I just pressed 2 apples, one lemon, and about 4 leaves of collard greens. It’s good but I needed add a teaspoon of cane sugar for my likes. I normally do not need to add much sugar to anything but this just needed something. I need to pick up some ginger to continue playing with my juicer.
Hooray for water that is just more.
Side effects of infused water with the list below are; detoxification, energy, and hydration.
Put as much fruit in water as you like and let the water sit for at least 30 minutes before drinking,
- Green tea, mint, lime–fat burning, digestion, headaches, congestion and breath freshener.
- Strawberry, kiwi–cardiovascular health, immune system protection, blood sugar regulation, digestion
- Cucumber, lime, lemon– water weight management, bloating, appetite control, hydration, digestion
- Lemon, lime, orange– digestion vitamin C, immune defense, heartburn, (drink this one at room temperature)
48 hour time limit to fruit…. –
You can put more water using the same fruit,
but discard after 48 hours.
